The following are a few notable projects that I worked on during my time at MCAST.
ThesisFor my thesis I decided to explore the research area of recommender systems.
The aim of my thesis (Titled: Using Recommender Systems to Enhance User Experience in News Applications) was
to create a recommendation system for a news application so that users would be recommended news articles
based on their interests and reading patterns. It was decided that the application was to be made as a smartphone application.
To test the prototype I created an Android application which was then tested by a number of users. One key feature of the
application was extract a user's Facebook likes to get an idea of his or her interests.

Malta ElectionsFor my software project I decided to create
a voting system based on the Maltese electoral system. Malta's electoral system
uses the Single Transferrable Vote system which is a somewhat complicated system.
In reality results take about two days to be finalised and it was the aim of this
project to reduce this time and display election results instantly. As well as make
it easier for people to vote for general elections, local council elections and
referenda and finally view election results.

GameplayIn this project an ecommerce website had to be
created. I decided to create a website focused on selling games on different platforms.
